They came by trains and buses sometimes taking a three day journey just to arrive for the ground breaking first-ever All-India Assemblies of God National Women’s Leadership Conference.  Sleeping quarters, meals and transportation during the conference had to be arranged by the host church provided by the Brelsford Account #2280907 for the amount of $20,000.

Over 100 district superintendents and their wives participated with a daily registration of 425 daytime registrants and over 4000 attending the evening plenary sessions.  Sri Lanka sent a leadership delegation team led by Sri Lanka’s General Superintendent.  There were many people who wanted to attend but providing the financial cost of their accommodation and meals was beyond our provision ability.

There were four teaching tracks with four workshops within each track:

• Monitoring Children in Ministry Homes
• Role Tension

Track 2:  Anointed to Bless in Our Church

• Developing Spiritual Gifts
• Finding Your Place in Ministry
• Basic Counseling and Conflict Resolution
• Developing Ministry Among Women

Track 3:  Anointed to Bless in Our Community

• Creative Way to Touch Your Community
• Compassion Ministries (Project Rescue, Female Infanticide, AIDS)
• Lifestyle Evangelism in the Muslim Community
• Identifying Needs in the Community

Track 4:  Anointed to Bless in Our World

• Media Ministries
• Mission’s Sponsoring Panel Discussion
• Specialized Ministries (Street Children, Singles)
• Asian Ministry Models (Cell Ministry, House Churches, District Women’s Manual Review)

More Regional Women’s Leadership Conferences in the five major cities have been planned as a follow-up of this very effective time of ministry.  Hopefully, this will make provision for the ladies who desired to come but an invitation could not be extended.  This will bring the ministry closer to the grassroot level and give opportunity for more women to participate.  It will also serve as a prelude to the “Women in Focus” television program to be launched in the city of Chennai.

We need assistance in hosting these Regional Conferences.   The estimated cost of each conference is $8000.  Please pray with us for the provision of these conferences.
