College Days Project
| Can you
imagine going to college and not having textbooks for each class? When I arrived in
India I discovered that students could not afford textbooks so they were very dependent on
classroom notes. Immediately I began to search the library for books that would be
available for the students. I discovered that quality books were simply not
available and most of the books were cast-offs and rejects that someone didn't want.
An entire class of students would have to share one book for any assignment I gave.
It was difficult to give the student any reading assignment outside of the
classroom. |

We
take for granted the libraries in America
offered in our schools, colleges and towns. They are so plentiful. Truly
we are rich and our Indian friends are in great need. Trinity
Bible
School
for Women in KPV, Tamilnadu needs 6,000 books in order to be accredited at the Bachelor of
Theology level of study. Currently, they only have 2,800 books. |
I have already donated $2,000 from my work account for this library
project. We desperately need 3,500 more books for next calendar year.
Most quality books average between $5.00 and $10.00 per book.
You can readily see that we need $17,500 for this library project at the very minimum.
We need other supporting hands to help us with this project.
